How To: use Winterboard

Winterboard is an iPhone application created by Saurik to let you skin your jailbroken iPhone, and is currently released by the community source Telesphoreo Tangelo.
Whenever you run Winterboard, a list of the available customizations is shown:

The default skins coming with Winterboard are:

  • Transparent Dock – hides the springboard dock
  • Solid Status Bar – always shows the status bar white
  • Black Navigation Bars – makes the navigation bar black
  • User Wallpaper – allows to set your own wallpaper as springboard background – useful if you have installed a theme but you want to keep your own wallpaper
  • User Lock Background – allows to set your own wallpaper as lockscreen background
  • No Undocked Icon Labels – hides the icons labels
  • No Docked Icon Labels – hides the dock icons labels
  • Dim Wallpaper – reduces the wallpaper brightness
  • Dim Icons – reduces the icons brightness

In order to apply a theme, simply select it and exit: the iPhone will automatically respring and will display the new skin.
In order to remove a skin, just uncheck the selected theme and exit.
Winterboard lets you also mix more skins: just select all the desired themes, keeping in mind that if you select skins which come into conflict (e.g. if you select two dialers), the priority is assigned to the first listed.
